This oral history recording was made as part of the Four Corners Archive project with Carla Mitchell on the 6th of March 2018. Paul was a central early member of Four Corners.
I met Paul at his flat in Mansfield on a cold March day. We began hesitantly. Paul was clearly unwell, and I was unsure whether interviewing him was a good idea. However, he soon became animated, vividly recalling his parents and childhood. We only got through about half an hour, but nonetheless the recording gives a strong sense of Paul’s formative years.
